2025-04-17
Based on the college's commitment to developing academic performance and raising the quality of exams, and under the direct supervision of the college's dean, a specialized workshop entitled "Academic Exam Question Analysis Program" was held on Monday, April 14, 2025. The workshop was well attended by faculty and staff, reflecting the growing interest in scientific methods for evaluating the educational process.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Qusay Hatem Issa, a lecturer at the Renewable Energy Research Center at Anbar University. He presented an electronic program he designed that is used to accurately and objectively analyze exam questions. This program is an important tool for measuring the quality of questions and their suitability for students' academic level. It relies on analyzing data extracted from students' scores for each exam question to determine the difficulty or ease of questions and the extent to which they differentiate between different student levels.
The workshop also addressed the importance of using statistical analysis tools in constructing effective and fair academic tests that reflect students' true academic achievement and contribute to enhancing learning outcomes. The workshop explained the technical aspects of the program, the mechanism for data entry and analysis, and provided practical examples of how the program can be used to analyze realistic exam models. At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees expressed great engagement with the content, and an extensive discussion ensued regarding the possibility of adopting this program as part of the college's academic performance evaluation mechanisms, given its effective role in improving the quality of tests and identifying strengths and weaknesses in question construction.
