The Renewable Energy Research Center at Anbar University holds an awareness-raising activity for College of Science students

As part of its ongoing efforts to spread environmental awareness and promote a culture of sustainable energy, the Renewable Energy Research Center at Anbar University organized a unique awareness-raising activity for College of Science students. The activity focused on the importance of using clean and renewable energy, the operation of solar panels, and their practical applications in daily life.
This activity aims to introduce students to the concepts of renewable energy and highlight the environmental challenges associated with the use of fossil fuels, while offering clean and safe alternatives that contribute to environmental conservation and the economical and efficient provision of energy.
The activity included a scientific lecture delivered by a group of researchers and engineers at the center. They reviewed the scientific foundations for generating energy from renewable sources and provided a detailed explanation of how solar panels work, starting with the absorption of sunlight, through its conversion into electrical energy, and ending with their use in operating devices or supplying the electrical grid. A live demonstration was also presented on campus, allowing students to interact with real models of solar panels and learn how to install and operate them. The event also discussed the most prominent technical challenges facing their use and how to overcome them using modern technologies.
The activity was well-received by students, who demonstrated a clear interest in modern clean energy technologies. They posed numerous questions and provided input, reflecting their growing awareness of environmental issues and sustainable energy.
Those in charge of the event emphasized that these activities are part of the Renewable Energy Research Center's plan to integrate the environmental dimension into the educational process and motivate students to pursue scientific disciplines related to renewable energy, given its strategic importance for the future of Iraq and the region.
At the conclusion of the activity, the participants expressed their thanks and appreciation to the center's management and the workshop organizers, emphasizing the importance of continuing such initiatives that combine theoretical and practical aspects and open up new horizons for students in the fields of scientific research and community service.
