Renewable Energy Research Center at the University of Anbar visited the Al-Nahrain Research Center for Renewable Energy

In an important step towards strengthening research and scientific cooperation between Iraqi academic institutions, a delegation from the Renewable Energy Research Center at the University of Anbar, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Talat Hamoudi, Director of the Center, made an official visit to the Al-Nahrain Research Center for Renewable Energy. The visit aimed to discuss prospects for scientific and technical cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two parties, in line with developments in the field of sustainable energy.
The visiting delegation was received by Professor Dr. Hussein Thamer Salloum and a number of researchers and specialists in the field of renewable energy at the Al-Nahrain Research Center. The meeting began with a warm welcome, during which Professor Dr. Hussein expressed his happiness with this visit, which reflects the spirit of openness and integration between national research institutions. He emphasized the importance of such meetings in building long-term strategic partnerships that support the progress of scientific research in Iraq. During the meeting, several vital topics were discussed, including the possibility of implementing joint research projects in the fields of solar energy, wind energy, and bioenergy, as well as developing energy storage and control technologies. The two centers also discussed organizing joint scientific workshops and seminars aimed at enhancing the efficiency of researchers and developing research infrastructure at both centers.
Opportunities for involving students and researchers in applied projects that address environmental and economic needs were also discussed. This would enhance the role of universities in serving society and contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals that Iraq seeks to achieve in light of current environmental and climate challenges.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Talat Hamoudi expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome, praising the scientific expertise and capabilities of the Nahrain Research Center. He emphasized the importance of unifying efforts and intensifying scientific cooperation to serve the national interest and enhance Iraq's position in the field of scientific research and knowledge production.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation toured the halls and laboratories of the Nahrain Research Center to view the research equipment and devices and discuss the possibility of mutual benefit from them in future projects. This visit is the first step in a long-term cooperation between the two institutions, reflecting their shared commitment to supporting scientific research and developing the renewable energy sector in Iraq, in line with the country's aspirations for a green and sustainable economy.
