(Assistant Lecturer (Tareq Hamad Abdul) at the Renewable Energy Research Center - University of Anbar, in collaboration with other researchers, published a scientific research in the international journal "International Journal of Heat and Technology", classified within Scopus containers, entitled::
“Numerical investigation of hydrothermal characteristics in backward-facing step channel with obstacles”
The aim of this research is to study numerically the effect of adding obstacles of different shapes (circular, square, and diamond) inside a channel containing a back step to improve the thermo-hydraulic performance. The effect of the obstacle size and location relative to the step, as well as the effect of the flow velocity (Reynolds number) on heat transfer and pressure losses is analyzed. The results indicate that the circular obstacle provides a significant heat transfer enhancement while achieving the best thermo-hydraulic performance at certain settings, making the research useful for applications that require efficient thermal management with reduced energy losses.
