Participation in the Second International Conference on Renewable Energy at University of Tikrit

Assistant Professor Dr. Raid K. Salman, a lecturer member at the Renewable Energy Research Center, participated in the Second International Conference on Renewable Energy held at Tikrit University in collaboration with North Oil Company at the Baiji Refinery. His participation included an article paper titled:
"Spatial Analyses of Reliability of Solar Power in the Western Part of Iraq"
This research is part of a series of studies derived from a previous study on renewable energy investment in Anbar Governorate, conducted under the directive of the President of Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Taleb Al-Nida. The research was conducted under the direct supervision of the Director of the Renewable Energy Research Center, Assist. Prof. Dr. Wissam H. Khalil.
The study involved a comprehensive analysis of the feasibility of using solar energy in four major areas in Anbar Governorate, categorized by the four cardinal directions. Through data collection and statistical analysis, it was determined that some areas are suitable for photovoltaic panel installations, while others have the potential to harness vast amounts of solar energy using concentrated solar power and solar tower technologies. This energy can be utilized for various applications, from electricity generation to heating during cold times.
