Publication of a Scientific Research within Scopus Index

Dr. Ahmed T. Hammoodi, a researcher at the Renewable Energy Research Center – University of Anbar in cooperation with researchers. Publish a scientific article in scientific journal Journal of Communications” that has Scopus index titled:

"Cubic Metric Reduction by Hybrid Companding-Universal Filtered Multi-carrier in 5G Networks"

This scientific article explore the newest wireless communication technologies employ various waveforms, with Universal Filtered Multicarrier (UFMC) standing out for its compatibility and symmetry. However, UFMC grapples with a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). To tackle this, Power-Averaged Perceived Roughness (PAPR) identifies signal peaks, while Cubic Metric (CM) targets in-band (IB) and out-of-band (OoB) distortion. Techniques like Selection Mapping (SLM) improve BER efficiency, and companding methods like A-law and μ-law minimize out-of-band interference (OBI) and PAPR. The composite approach balances distortion, though it raises PAPR and complexity. MATLAB simulations reveal that the SLM-companding UFMC model excels in CM performance. With high-order modulation like 256QAM, CCDF-CM is reduced by 52% compared to standard UFMC, a substantial enhancement.
